MFRR: NIKONPRODUCT CODE/SKU: 2164PRODUCT SNIPPET: “NIKON 24-70mm 2.8 lens”I love all my Nikon lenses and I cannot pick a favorite…However if I could only have 1 lens – I would have to go with the Nikon 24-70mm 2.8. Yes this is my bread and butter lens. I can do so much with this focal length and cover a gamut of situations.The image quality is razor sharp -edge to edge sharpness!The fast 2.8 aperture allows me to shoot in low light situations in confidence.In the past – in particular with other manufacturer’s lenses (I won’t name names…) zooms have gotten a bad rap…Nikon shooter’s have the luxury of changing focal lengths by zooming rather than physically changing lenses. Yes you can zoom with your “feet” but sometimes you simply cannot or may be limited or constrained to a certain area – such as in a church and the bride, groom and guests will hardly notice you because you are not swapping lenses out- thus allowing  immediate response to compose my photo – not to mention risking dust from getting into the sensor.This lens is perfect for journalistic coverage at events or weddings allowing me to shoot wide covering context/story or zoom in to isolate a subject.Construction is top shelf – solid – professional – a little heavy but it does not bother me one bit- I am not interested in lenses that feel like hollow Easter bunnies….Nikon includes a soft case and lens hood.Thank you Nikon!
